LAUNCH LA is proud to present the 21st annual TARFEST – A Day in the Park, music and arts festival, held in partnership with Pan Pacific Park, 7600 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 2pm-8pm. The one-day-only festival is produced by the non-profit arts organization LAUNCH LA and is Free + All Ages.

TARFEST celebrates LA’s cultural diversity with musical performances by Mariachi Quinto Sol, KCRW DJ Novena Carmel and LA’s premier reggae and afrobeat party BOOMYARD presented by Delicious Vinyl Island. BOOMYARD will feature Jamaican DJ Mysta Crooks followed by South Florida-born, Belizean/Haitian multi-genre artist Kaylan Arnold blending reggae, jazz and hip-hop. Headliner Jamaican artist BLVK H3RO, (pronounced Black Hero), will perform his modern reggae sound blending dancehall and afrobeats with touches of soul and R&B.

Catering to all ages, TARFEST offers Free Art-Making and Cultural Activities throughout the day with local partners like the Korean Cultural Center, the Japan Foundation, The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, The Holocaust Museum LA, Gloria Molina Grand Park, and others. KP Projects Gallery will manage the live painting salon as local artists paint beautiful and inspiring images before your eyes. Local artist Ricky Sencion shepherds his iconic sheep throughout the park and much more.

New this year, Artisan Booths, curated by Runway Boutique, will feature handcrafted jewelry, specialty goods and wares for purchase. Some of the best food trucks in LA will offer nourishment along with innovative and refreshing soft drinks and mocktails served up by Bar Nuda. Television City Studio’s Kids Creativity Lab will offer face painters, balloon artists and other surprises. Intergenerational hip-hop and breakdancing collective JUiCE (Justice by Uniting in Creative Energy) will conduct dance workshops as well. Petersen Automotive Museum and WAYMO will provide state of the art vehicles and related activities to complete the celebration.

“TARFEST has been part of the LA community for over twenty years, remaining an annual free event through massive changes that have transformed the city and our neighborhood,” says LAUNCH LA & TARFEST founder James Panozzo. “This festival is about holding a mirror to our large, diverse community and by honoring what’s best about our city in the Creative Core of Los Angeles.”
