Return with us to the rough and tumble Old West when author Michael F. Blake joins us at the Hollywood Heritage Museum to give a talk on John Ford’s classic westerns that comprise “The Cavalry Trilogy” – FORT APACHE (1948), SHE WORE A YELLOW RIBBON (1949) and RIO GRANDE (1950).
Ford claims he never set out make a trilogy. The first two films were made to boost his flagging company and the last, which paired Maureen O’Hara and John Wayne, was a means to getting his dream project, THE QUIET MAN, made with the same stars.
A small exhibit of related artifacts will be on display. Blake will sign books following the presentation and Larry Edmunds Bookshop will be on hand for book sales. Please note that the museum will only be open for this event today. Museum exhibits will be closed as we transition to a new exhibit.
This program is free. If you previously purchased a ticket, you will be refunded when you arrive for the presentation. Present your receipt at the desk.
