The Philosophical Research Society is honored to welcome Heather Henson’s HANDMADE PUPPET DREAMS film series for an exciting evening of incredible short puppet films by local LA artists!
A part of Heather Henson’s Green Feather Foundation, Handmade Puppet Dreams is a traveling film series that promotes independent artists exploring their handmade craft specifically for the screen. These films all focus on real-time puppetry, and allow artists to build their vision, and then breathe life into their dreams. Founded in 2004, Henson and producer Alex U. Griffin have set out to showcase a new generation of puppeteers and puppet artists who embrace film as a medium for artistic expression.
For this very special evening, Handmade Puppet Dreams will present a wonderful program curated especially for PRS, exploring the craft of puppetry on film from independent LA artists – including Christine Papalexis’ Amaterasu, Pam Severns’ Bunny Love, Rudy Martinez’s Ham, Jack Pullman’s If Birds Fly, Adnan Hussain’s Ramkali, and Sam Koji Hale’s Yamasong – with more to be announced!
Join us to see these inventive and imaginative films, including a Q&A with the filmmakers and the chance to see some of the puppets themselves in an exclusive one-night-only display!
Tickets: $10, $5 for LA Guild of Puppetry members (w/ promo code)
