Poetry Performance: Yazmin Monét Watkins

Black California Dreamin’ explores how access to nature, recreation, and sites of relaxation—in other words, leisure—is of unquestionable significance to pursuing the full range of human experience, self-fulfillment, and dignity. Writer, comedian, actress, educator, and organizer Yazmin Monét Watkins will perform poetry in conjunction with the exhibition, responding to and reflecting on themes of Black beach life in Southern California, family history, and dreams for the future.
