Activists on the Right and Left Protest Mayor; In Contrast, Nearly All like Neighborhood Cat

Activists on both sides of the political spectrum have been protesting at the Mayor Eric Garcetti’s residence in Windsor Square over the past several days. Pro-Trump activists have targeted Garcetti for his failure to clean up homeless encampments on city streets. Black Lives Matter protestors, also frustrated with the Mayor’s response to homelessness, have been more frequent. Visiting the Mayor’s Official Residence nearly daily, their demonstrations are targeted to President-elect Joe Biden’s Transition Team. According their social media posts, the group doesn’t want to see Garcetti nominated for a cabinet level position in the new administration.

Nearby residents have described the protests as generally peaceful and non-eventful, in particular the daily visits by Black Lives Matter activists. On a lighter note, one local resident, Sven, a tabby cat, seems to actually enjoy the regular visitors, and seems to have won the support of both camps, as featured in their social media posts:

and there’s more…Sven the cat has become social media meme.
