The Memorial Branch Library is looking for recipes from local residents to publish in a cookbook which will then be made available for checkout on the shelves. In connection with the LA Public Library’s summer theme entitled “Reading is So Delicious,” the branch will be accepting recipes from all ages until Labor Day. The Librarian hopes to represent the special flavors and talents of our neighborhood! So have your Ooey-Gooey Bake-sale Brownies, your 1947 Ebell Club finger sandwiches, or your Korean bulgogi immortalized as Dewey decimal number 641.5879, in the California cooking section.
Submit a form at the LAPL Memorial Branch (at 4625 W. Olympic Blvd., LA,) or contact Renee Montgomery for a Pdf form [email protected]. Library phone is (323) 938-2732.
And… if your kids haven’t been attending the library’s free summer food programs they’ve missed the buzz, literally the buzz when Whole Foods brought live bees last week. This week’s special presentation is entitled “Piccolo Chef – Healthy Cooking with Your Kids” where Chef Gino from Santa Monica’s Piccolo Children’s Cooking School will teach a free Italian Pasta class. Thursday July 25th from 3:30-4pm.
Update – July 26th:
