Buzzworthy Virtual Meetings This Week

A year ago, virtual meetings were rare. Now they are nearly ubiquitous, offering a convenient way to so many to participate in community meetings.  This Buzz archive photo captured the first-ever online Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council Board meeting May 13, 2020.

Now that many meeting are virtual, organizers welcome interested community members to  Zoom in and join the conversation. This week there are some meetings happening that we think you may want to attend — virtually.

The Hancock Park Homeowners Association is inviting residents of City Council District 4 to attend a virtual town hall meeting with City Councilmember Nithya Raman on Monday, March 15 at 6:00 p.m. Please click here to register in advance for this town hall.  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

Windsor Square Hancock Park Historical Society and Angel City Press will present book talk with author Michelle Asselin on her book: Clubhouse Turn: The Twilight of Hollywood Park Race Track on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, 7:00 p.m. The lecture is $10 or $60 which includes an autographed hardcover book and presentation. The Hollywood Community Plan will be reviewed by the City Planning Commission on Thursday, March 18 at 8:30 a.m.  Click here to view the agenda of the meeting with information on how to log in and join the meeting.

The Greater Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce invites you to a panel featuring local museum leaders on Thursday, March 18th – 11:30am to 1 pm.  Entitled, “Back to the Future – Return to Reality from Zoom” the panel discussion features museums and gallery leaders from Art Hype, Academy Museum, Holocaust Museum LA, KP Projects, LACMA, Launch LA, Sprueth Magers, JPLA, Flutter, and more.  The Greater Miracle Mile is a cultural mecca with the largest concentration of Museums on the West Coast. Learn how our center of art continues to curate, reach out, engage and display cultural project during this past year as well as their plans for the future. Greater LA Homeless Count Town Hall Thursday, March 18, 2021, at 5:00 pm. Join the LA Homeless Services Authority for a town hall on efforts to end homelessness.  The event includes an update on LAHSA’s COVID-19 response, the rehousing system and a Q&A discussion about LAHSA’s 2020 performance and goals for 2021.
