CD4 Holds Holiday Donation Drives with Assemblymember Richard Bloom and Greek Theater

It’s still a few weeks until the new city council and state legislative districts take effect, so while most of our GWNC area is still in CD 4, we wanted to pass along a recent notice from City Councilmember Nithya Raman’s office about two holiday donation drives Raman is co-sponsoring with California State Assemblymember Richard Bloom and the Greek Theater:

Help provide clothing for the colder weather to youth experiencing homelessness at My Friend’s Place.

We are requesting new or gently used and laundered clothing, including

  • Sweatpants/Joggers (adult sizes M-XXL)
  • Sweatshirts (adult sizes M-XXL)
  • Rain Gear (umbrellas, ponchos, warmer rain jackets)
  • Beanies/gloves
  • Other casual clothing items

While all clothing donations are welcome there is greatest need for sizes XL and up and men’s casual clothing.

Donate goods for distribution to the community by local organizations, including at Hollywood United Methodist Church and Temple Israel’s Christmas Day dinner. Items needed include new socks and personal care items (such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and deodorant).
