CD5 and CD13 Candidate Forums Tonight at The Ebell of Los Angeles

The Buzz will be participating in this evening’s candidate forums — one for LA City Council District 5 (CD5) and one for LA City Council District 13 (CD13) — co-hosted by four neighborhood councils (Greater Wilshire, Echo Park, Mid City West, and Palms), and beginning at 6:00pm at the Ebell of Los Angeles. Buzz co-publisher Patricia Lombard will be moderating the CD13 forum and Buzz co-publisher Liz Fuller will be there to cover the event as part of the Buzz’s extensive and ongoing documentation of all the local races.

The CD5 Forum, starting at 6 p.m., will be moderated by five-time Emmy award winner Elex Michaelson from Fox 11. Candidates Jimmy Biblarz, Scott Epstein, Sam Yebri, and Katy Young Yaroslavsky will answer rapid response and long form questions.

Then, starting at 7: 30 p.m., Lombard will ask CD13 candidates Albert Corado, Steve Johnson, Mitch O’Farrell (incumbent), Kate Pynoos, and Hugo Soto-Martinez questions developed by the event’s organizers.

All certified candidates for each City Council District will be participating in their respective forums. The forums will be hosted in the Dining Room at the historic Ebell of Los Angeles. The CD5 forum will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m., followed by a brief intermission. The CD13 forum will begin after the intermission at 7:30 pm.

The forums are free and open to the public. Please register at: may26cdforum.eventbrite.com

For those unable to attend in person, the forums will also be available via Zoom.

Also, please note that directly after the CD5 Forum, there will be a meet and greet with all four CD5 candidates at:
