There are several convenient local options for free, PCR testing in the neighborhood. Today, from 11:00 – 3:30 p.m. The Ebell of Los Angeles is hosting drive-through testing in its west parking lot with West Coast Testing. The Ebell hopes to provide drive through testing every Tuesday.
This morning, we also stopped by to meet the folks at COVID19Testing, who have set up a tent on Larchmont Blvd., around the corner from the Bank of America at First Street. The testing site is one of several operated in coordination with Hatzolah of Los Angeles. Testing is available every day but Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They offer free PCR tests as well as rapid tests. Results for the rapid tests are usually available with 30 minutes and results from the PCR tests are usually available with in 24-48 hours.
Like most testing sites, registration with a smart phone is expected, but technicians Whitney Castillo and Vosce Jones told us they were happy to help people register. Results are sent by text message or email. The test is self administered, but they can provide assistance to anyone to needs help.
Castillo told the Buzz they plan to be on Larchmont indefinitely. Click here to register or scan the code in the photo below.
