If you were lucky, your Friday the 13th started with a brief power outage around 2:45 a.m. If you weren’t so lucky, it stayed out for seven hours, creating lots of chaos until it popped back on around 10:00 a.m. That’s what happened to us, Brooksiders, Windsor Villagers, and other nearby residents.

The LADWP told the Buzz this morning that approximately 1,000 customers were without power for a short time when four circuits failed in the Mid-Wilshire area.

“Crews were able to re-energize three of the four circuits right away,” explained an LADWP spokesperson, but the fourth circuit took a bit longer…and “the cause of the outage is still under investigation.”

Fortunately, the outage was relatively small, and LADWP was able to restore power quickl.y…the but inconvenience was a great reminder that my household needs to get serious about getting a backup generator. Especially now that we have a house full of people working from home!

Happy Friday the 13th, everyone! We hope the rest of the day is very uneventful.
