The story about a live birth in the Petting Zoo at the Larchmont Family Fair on Sunday was confirmed yesterday and we’ve got the photos to prove it. The owner of Pony Pal Farms, Wendy Gottlieb, shared the following story with the Larchmont Buzz:
Snowflake takes care of her two new kids right after giving birth in the Petting Zoo on Sunday.
When I brought the mom “Snowflake” to the fair I knew she was close to having her babies but didn’t know she was that close. I figured at least I could keep an eye on her, having her with us at the fair. It was just shortly before 5 pm when one of my employees pointed out a large gush of water coming from Snowflake and asked what that was. I said her water has just broken and ran to get a pen to separate her out from the other goats.
By the time I got back Snowflake had just delivered the first kid, a healthy red and white little girl. The second kid, an all white girl, followed a short while later, though not delivered quite as easily as she was Mal-positioned with her front legs tucked behind her shoulders instead of out front where they should have been. I had to help deliver that one. I was glad I had brought Snowflake along as I am not sure she would have been able to get that baby delivered safely without assistance. I am happy it worked out the way it did and I know it was a really great experience for all those who got to witness the births of these two adorable little kids. Now I just have come up with the right names for them. Any suggestions?
