If you missed the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council’s “County 101” educational town hall event last week, but would still like to see it, a video recording is now publicly available on Facebook (note:Â no Facebook account or login is necessary to view the video).
In general, the event provided an overview of what the Los Angeles County (as opposed to LA City) government does and what it’s responsible for.
The program includes information on:

- County-level elected officials (Sheriff, Fire, Emergency Response, etc.)
- County-provided social services…
…and more.
The information was presented by…
Fernando Morales, Supervisor Sheila Kuehl’s District Director for West/Metro Los Angeles, who spoke about what Los Angeles County government is responsible for, how it’s organized, and how it can work for you…
…and Cristin Mondy, RN, MSN, MPH — LA County Service Planning Area 4’s Area Health Officer — who broke down the County Public Health Department’s work to combat COVID-19, outlined its plans for vaccine distribution, and more.
Resources presented included the:
- LA County Department of Public Health COVID-19 Vaccine website
- LA County list of COVID-19 Vaccine Phases and Tiers
- Consolidated list of COVID-19 resources
- Disaster Help Center (resources for workers, businesses, non-profits, and tenants/landlords)
