Elections for the board of the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council are coming up on March 16. The last day to register to vote is March 9.
As we have reported, the election is entirely vote-by-mail, no in-person voting is permitted due to the pandemic. We have heard lots of reports about difficulty getting ballots (including our own) through the City Clerk’s office.
In response the GWNC is hosting a special meeting today at 5 p.m. to address these issues with city officials. Click here to view the agenda.
Recently, the GWNC posted this message on its website:
We are aware of many problems as the first batch of ballots have arrived. We are working with the City Clerk, Department of Neighborhood Empowerment, CD5 and CD4 offices and the City Attorney to make sure that incorrect or incomplete ballots are corrected as soon as possible.
We understand that the City Clerk’s current plan is to contact everyone who has registered to make sure they are receiving the correct and complete ballot.
We will hold a special meeting Thursday, March 4th at 5 p.m. to discuss the plan.
