Early morning Larchmont visitors were surprised to see paper on the windows and a note on the door at La Bottega Marino on Wednesday. The note was from owners Mario and Sal Marino – announcing the closure of their restaurant and thanking locals for their patronage over the 12 years they were open.
The space transfers hands on Friday, March 1st. Family run Pinches Tacos will be renovating the location and hope to open sometime in March.
You can still catch La Bottega Marino over in West LA – on Santa Monica near the 405. Just don’t do it this weekend – there’s a mini-carmageddon on tap…read about that here.
About Mary
Mary has lived in the Hancock Park area for over 20 years - including homes in Larchmont Village and Windsor Square. Mary has lived in some great places in her life - but none compare to the convenience and majesty of our neighborhood. For Mary, the neighborhood has been a wonderful home to her large, extended family...at one time she had family members living on seven different Hancock Park area blocks! Larchmont Buzz is a labor of love - built to celebrate the neighborhood and to elevate the conversation in the area.
thought we knew they were closing already, or maybe that was a different eatery. Hmm, tacos…could be a great idea.
If you miss La Bottega, try and support Marino’s on Melrose too.
We’ll miss the manager, Will. He was so friendly and made La Bottega Marino such a great spot for the Larchmont/Hancock Park community.
