Friedlander interviews Larchmont locals including Buzz contributor Patty Lombard, and calls the piece “Bitter Battle Over Larchmont.”

  1. As I understand the ordinance, the idea’s to curtail the number of food places on the ‘mont, so there aren’t too many. In the rest of LA customers decide that by eating at places they like & avoiding the ones they don’t. Yep, we’re seen them come & go on Larchmont.

I’ve eaten at the Bungalow a time or two & it seems to be quite popular & busy. So its strange that the city would shut the place down especially since there are already a number of empty storefronts on Larchmont.

Gets even stranger as the owners of the Bungalow came up with the dumbest ideas to avoid the ordinance with such antics as putting for sale tags on all the tables & chairs outdoors. Perhaps the ordinance needs to updated or dismissed & let the diners decide who stays & who goes.

  2. After having not been to Larchmont in awhile, I was shocked to see a Hamburger Hamlet there…across the street from other chain stores Starbucks and Jamba Juice. Those two have been there awhile and although I’m not thrilled with them, they don’t raise the hair on the back of my neck like a burger chain moving in. What’s next? An American Apparel shop? A pot dispensary?

  3. Too many restaurants on Larchmont? Get ready for another restaurant at the old 21 Flavors location across from Hamburger Hamlet.
