We stopped by today to see the new Larchmont Barber Shop, now located at 401 1/2 S. Fairfax. Longtime customers will recognize many of the interior finishes of the shop. Hilario had just finished decorating the shop with Dodger bobble heads when he called us to come over for a visit.
The original barber pole is now in the front window of the new shop, and the same chairs and cabinets are there, too.
“I took everything but walls,” George Hilario told the Buzz. Hilario and his barbers lost their lease on Larchmont when the new property owner began a two-year renovation of the building.
Lots of his old customers are finding him in this new location, and Hilario is also getting some new customers as well. The new shop is one store front south of the corner of 4th Street and Fairfax, on the west side of the street. There’s plenty of metered parking right in front of the shop. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling (323) 464-6659.

This story has been updated to correct the address — it’s on South Fairfax!
