Larchmont Bungalow Case Continued Again

Bungalowsign

At a scheduled court appearance on Wednesday, August 12, lawyers for Larchmont Bungalow restaurant owner Albert Mizrahi requested more time to present another motion on behalf of their client, who is facing criminal charges for failing to comply with city orders and operating a restaurant without a Certificate of Occupancy. The request was granted because one of the attorneys who could make the argument was not present.  The next court date in the case is set for October 14.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mizrahi has filed a new Land Use application with the City, formally requesting a clarification of the City’s “Q” conditions on Larchmont, specifically in the definition of “restaurant.”  (The “Q” conditions limit the number of restaurants on Larchmont, and Mr. Mizrahi’s original conflict with the City came after he signed a covenant with the City before opening the Bungalow, promising that the business would be a take-out establishment, and not a “restaurant.”)

  1. This whole thing is just one big farce. What Mizrahi did/has done to Larchmont is loathesome, but you have to admire his tenacity. I guess that’s how you get to buy a chunk of a street and ruin it to your own specifications, in the first place.
