The signs are finally up for Lassen’s Natural Foods and Vitamins at Wilshire La Brea with a mid-September opening on deck for the first natural, organic, non-GMO grocery in the mid-Wilshire area. A family owned business that started in Camarillo in 1971, Lassen’s prides itself on its long-term relationships with local farms and products, and only offering what it calls “100% organic product. This will be the 11th Lassen’s store, following new stores opened in Thousand Oaks and Echo Park.

The build-out of the 12,000 square foot space in the ground floor of the Essex Apartments at Wilshire La Brea is expected to include a grab-and-go section that includes a Hot Bar with fresh hot food offerings, and a Cold Bar to serve up salads and sides.

“We want this store to be convenient to the very active and healthy residents who live in the area,” Lassen’s Marketing Director Raymond Martherus told the Larchmont Buzz by phone. Lassen’s plans to have some tables set up outside the La Brea Ave entrance to the store, adding some street ambiance to the busy southeast corner of Wilshire and La Brea.

One hour free parking for store customers will be offered in the building. Access to the parking garage is from Sycamore St. on the east side of the complex,  just south of Wilshire.
