The cosmos is giving us a special full moon to end 2020, a year that has been challenging for nearly everyone on the planet. In Los Angeles, our clear skies will make it easy to spot this moon.
“It’s called a Full Cold Moon or the Long Night’s Moon, because it occurs at one of the coldest times of the year. And because of its high trajectory across the sky, the full Moon sits above the horizon for a longer period of time,” according to the Farmers’ Almanac, a great source for this kind of information, explained Linda Sanoff, our Hancock Park based skywatcher.
Sanoff shared these photos of the moon on her walk around Hancock Park Tuesday evening.
