Le Pain Quotidien is Back

We’d been wondering when the new owners of Le Pain Quotidien would re-open their Larchmont location, and on Sunday we got the answer. On our way to the Sunday Larchmont Farmer’s Market, we were delighted to see this beloved Larchmont bakery and restaurant was open.

“It was very last minute,” explained Maria York, the longtime manager. “They called and said, “Could you open Friday?” I couldn’t, so we opened Saturday!”

York said she was able to bring back many of the staff and is hoping more can come back when they are able to start serving dinner. But for now, Le Pain is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, with table service outside in front of the restaurant and on the patio in the back. The inside of the restaurant is closed to seating, but patrons can comfortably wait for take out with appropriate social distancing.

Le Pain Quotidien, the  casual Belgian eatery, a longtime staple of Larchmont, closed down during the pandemic and briefly re-opened, but was shuttered again as the business’ parent company filed for bankruptcy. As we reported earlier, the new owner – Aurify Brands – announced it might re-open some of the more profitable LPQ locations. The company has since re-opened a dozen of its New York shops and is slowing re-opening its West Coast restaurants. Beverly Hills and Studio City are among the LA locations also expected to re-open, according to the LPQ website.

The inside of the restaurant is open for take away ordering. Dining is available outside on the back patio or in front of the restaurant.
We’re so happy to welcome back a longtime staple of Larchmont!
