Malin+Goetz Celebrates 17th Anniversary; 8 years on Larchmont

This week Malin+Goetz, the all-natural, gender-neutral skin care product company,  is celebrating its 17th anniversary and nearly a decade on Larchmont Blvd.   From today through Saturday the store is offering a 15% discount on all items, a special gift with purchase, and a sample bar where you can pick up an adorable label pin of Mr. Greenberg, the brand’s pug mascot.

Malin+Goetz staffers Sonia Kim and Cassidy Oliveras explain the anniversary celebration gift with purchase now through Saturday.

The brand was founded by New Yorkers Andrew Goetz and Matthew Malin in March, 2004.  Buzz founder Julie Grist met Goetz getting the store ready back in March, 2012.  Goetz said he was delighted with the shallow ‘plaid’ shelves in white that line the walls of the long shop, designed by architect Andrew Bernheimer, as well as the old 12 foot-long apothecary table that commands attention down the center of the space.

At the time, we reported that Malin+Goetz looked at Abbot Kinney, the Grove, Santa Monica and Melrose as locations for its first west coast store, but chose Larchmont because of good parking and foot traffic, as well as the warm, old-fashioned “neighborhood-ly” feel of the area. That’s still the case, according to Sonia Kim, senior manager of retail for the company, and business has been steadily improving since the store re-opened in June, with recent restaurant re-openings increasing activity as well.

Malin+Goetz introduced a new Strawberry fragrance inspired by the founders’ Hudson Valley, New York garden.
Malin+Goetz products are gender neutral and the packaging is color-coded so customers can easily find face (blue) hair (red) and body ( green) products.
