Mid City West Neighborhood Council Seeks Two New Board Members

 

Do you rent a home in the Mid City West Neighborhood Council area…or do you live in Area 5 within the larger MCWNC boundaries?  And would you like to find a great way to get more involved in your community?  If so, the MCWNC is currently seeking two new board members, one to represent renters in the MCWNC area, and one to represent the Council’s geographic Area 5.  Here are more details from the MCWNC itself:

The MCWNC Board currently has two vacancies which will be filled at the next General Board Meeting taking place virtually on Tuesday, July 12 at 6:30pm:

Renters Representative – must be a current MCWNC stakeholder
Zone 5 Representative – must must be a stakeholder and live in Zone 5 in the map below

 

 

Am I A Stakeholder?

If you live, work, rent/own property within the MCW borders, or have a stake in the neighborhood as a community interest stakeholder (defined as a person who affirms a substantial and ongoing participation within the neighborhood council’s boundaries and who may be active in a community organization such as, but not limited to, educational, non-profit and/or religious organizations) you are eligible to run for one of our current openings.

 

How Do I Run for an Open Seat?

All candidates are encouraged to notify the Executive Council before July 12th of their intent to run and must attend the next General Board Meeting to be eligible. All candidates will have an equal opportunity (2 minutes) to present to the Board.

New Board Members must complete all required trainings and are expected to be engaged and active members of MCWNC.
