On Thursday, January 21, the LA City Planning Commission will hold a day-long Equity Day and “community listening session” to give community members a chance to share their experiences with planning and development in their neighborhoods, and to offer “equity-focused strategies that can ensure just outcomes for all Angelenos.”
According to the CPC’s event announcement, the goals of the session are to:
- Understand how structural racism has been built into our existing policies
- Amplify the voices of people most affected by racist policies
- Inform CPC’s future anti-racist and equity framework to guide decision-making on projects and policy
