The section of shops on Larchmont Boulevard between the City surface parking lot and the US Bank building has a fresh new look. Two new tenants are open for business this week and both stand to become quick favorites… a new juice store with a focus on juice cleanse and a re-branded shop that carries a unique selection of glasses.

Pressed Juicery is built around the concept of conveniently delivering vital nutrients through juice drinks designed for today’s busy lifestyle. Their juice choices range from a mix of greens, roots or fruits. And patrons can buy them one at a time or invest in cleanse regimens that is designed to put the body back in nutritional balance.

City of Eyes by Alexander Daas – 161 North Larchmont Boulevard

Eyewear entrepreneur Alexander Daas is taking over iWear on Larchmont and rebranding it as the first location for his new eyewear store City of Eyes by Alexander Daas. Locals can expect a store that aims to be more connected to the Larchmont/Hancock Park consumer with more independent brands to meet their needs.

Daas is a second generation optician who grew up helping in his family’s optical boutique in San Francisco. After college, Daas took over operations of the shop. He was very active in the Chestnut Sit community in the Marina where the San Francisco store is, serving as President of the Marina Merchants Association for many years.

After years of building up a large celebrity clientele and of modifying other frames to better fit clients, his experience as an optician and eyewear stylist became the foundation of his new role as a designer. Almost 3 years ago, Daas launched his own eyewear line, Alexander Daas, which is nationally and internationally distributed. Their headquarters are in downtown San Diego and feature a retail showroom for the brand.

For Daas, he fell in love with Larchmont Village about 3 years ago when he first discovered it. It reminds him of the San Francisco community where he began his career on a street lined with boutique merchants. He hopes to get involved and help improve the community for all.

City of Eyes will carry the top selection of high quality independent brands. The store won’t be about carrying big designer names that you can find at every basic optical or sunglass shop. City of Eyes brands are unique and designed by some of the greatest eyewear minds operating today. The frames are handmade by the best eyewear artisans in Japan, France, Germany and more. 100% of each dollar spent by the wearer is for the quality of the materials and production process. In addition to Alexander Daas, the store will carry frames by Mykita, Barton Perreira, Salt, Matsuda, KBL and more.
