Request Your Neighborhood Council Ballot by Today at 5 P.M.; City Clerk adds 7 Days for Post Office to Deliver Ballots Postmarked by March 16

Today at 5 pm is the deadline to request a ballot for the upcoming GWNC election.

Today at 5 p.m. is deadline to request a ballot for the neighborhood council elections coming up on March 16 (both the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council and the Mid City West Community Council). Ballots can be requested online here through the city’s online portal. For more information on GWNC ballots, visit the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council website. As we reported last week, City election staff are available to answer your questions by email at [email protected] or by phone at (213) 978-0444.

We also got word today that the City has extended the deadline to receive ballots postmarked by election day, March 16.

“After a careful re-examination of our 2021 NC Election Timeline, we have determined that the deadline to receive postmarked ballots will extend from the original date of Election Day +3 days to Election Day +10 days. This is an additional seven days in which our office will accept voted ballots in their City Clerk issued, postage paid envelope that are properly postmarked by each respective regional Election Day. Updated Regional Timelines are attached hereto for your convenience,” wrote Election Administrator Lanee Basulto in an email to GWNC Election chair, Brian Curran.  All ballots must still be postmarked by March 16.
