Staff Changes at CD4, Including New Field Deputies for GWNC and MCWNC Areas

City Councilmember Nithya Raman today announced three new hires in her District 4 office.  According to a press release sent out this afternoon, the new staff members are:

Jorge Plascencia ([email protected]) joins us as the Field Deputy for the Central Hollywood Neighborhood Council area, and the southern half of the Hollywood Hills West NC area. He brings prior experience from Capitol Hill, the CA State Assembly, and the non-profit sector, with past work spanning housing projects, case management, and community advocacy. Jorge hopes to bring his government and social service experience directly to Council District 4 in his capacity as Field Deputy. In his free time, Jorge loves to watch the Los Angeles Lakers and remains hopeful Lonzo Ball re-signs with the “Showtime Lakers.”

Kevin Sanchez Morales ([email protected]) joins us as the Field Deputy for the Greater Wilshire NC and Mid-City West NC areas. A near-lifelong Koreatown resident, Kevin received his BA in Political Science from UC Santa Barbara. His previous work experience allowed him to work with some of the region’s most respected leaders, including LA City Councilmember Kevin de León, and Assemblymember Miguel Santiago, gaining experience across issues including healthcare, small business, and the environment. In Kevin’s free time you can find him hiking, walking his dog, Kyla, or dining at some of the amazing restaurants CD4 has to offer.

Finally, we are so happy to have César Vásquez-Carrera ([email protected]) joining our Office’s Homelessness team, starting next week, as its Liaison, helping to respond to homelessness issues across the varied neighborhoods of the district. César brings a passion for helping unhoused residents, an expansive skillset and work history in this field, and a deep understanding of our district, its residents, and our outreach approach.

With the new staff members in place, our two previous local Field Deputies positions are moving on to new assignments.  According to today’s announcement, Tabatha Yélos, former Mid City West and Hollywood Field Deputy, will be become the office’s new Community Education Coordinator…and former GWNC-area Field Deputy Su In Lee will become an at-large Field Deputy and Small Business Liaison.
