Tacos Tu Madre announced its move from the Village (Larchmont between Beverly Blvd. and First Street) to north Larchmont Blvd. with posters in in the window last week.
As of this writing, the restaurant at 203 N. Larchmont Blvd. is now closed for business. Workers at the new location at 660 N. Larchmont, the former Art Works Studio space at the SE corner of Larchmont and Melrose, told us the new restaurant space would be ready in approximately two months. We peeked inside at the space currently under construction, which features lots of windows, a large u-shaped bar, and space for dine-in tables, something not allowed in the former location, which was permitted for take-out service only.
As promised in the poster, the restaurant’s owners have applied for an alcohol license under the city’s new Restaurant Beverage Program, which streamlines the alcohol permitting process for restaurants that meet certain qualifications. The requested hours of operation at the new location are not yet available, but the Restaurant Beverage Program limits hours of operation to 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Larchmont Village location closed at 10:30 p.m.
The new Larchmont location is the fourth location for the restaurant owners. The contractor told the Buzz that the owners have refreshed their Los Feliz operation with a new restaurant at Hillhurst and Russell Street. The other two locations are in West Hollywood and Santa Monica. We have calls in to owner Josh Pourgol for more details, and will keep you posted.

In other Larchmont Village news, we are happy to report the windows at the Buck Mason clothing store, which were vandalized last week, are now repaired.
