EaterLA.com has revealed that Andre Guerrero, the Chef/Owner behind Eagle Rock restaurant The Oinkster will be opening a second location in Hollywood in the building that was formerly home to Sushi Hiroba.

The restaurant space is a familiar one to most in our neighborhood – as it is on Vine Street, just north of Melrose – near the Pavillions, “sandwiched” between the Subway and Larchmont Charter School. Our family has discussed the building for years, proffering our solutions for what kind of place we would most like to see there. I’m pretty sure my sons will be happy about a place that serves BBQ pulled pork.

Crews have been transforming the structure and are working towards an end of year opening. Architects Design, Bitches have shared their architectural renderings and we think you will agree – the clean, welcoming look of the building will help transform this stretch of Vine Street.

Slow food fast is how they do it at The Oinkster…chicken, pastrami, BBQ pulled pork and hamburgers. Their menu includes some great sounding salads and a few vegetarian options, too. The restaurant in Eagle Rock serves Craft Beers and Wine; shakes, malts, fountain sodas and Intelligentsia Coffee. The building is zoned as a restaurant/lounge/tavern.
