Thomas Carroll, “Mayor of North Arden Blvd” Passed Away

Thomas Carroll, longtime resident of Larchmont Village, passed away April 12, 2022

Longtime Larchmont Village resident Thomas Carroll passed away on April 12th.

Tom was known as “The Mayor of North Arden Blvd.” He had an encyclopedic knowledge of our neighborhood and world history. He was the neighbor who always lent a hand and had a kind word for everyone he met. We miss his voice and his infectious laugh. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many.

A funeral Mass for Tom will be held this Saturday, May 21 at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church followed by a memorial gathering at the church hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Editor’s note: Thanks to Sarita Singh, an Arden Blvd resident, for preparing this announcement for the Buzz.

  1. I had the pleasure of knowing Tom. He was a wonderful man and always charming. I loved running into him walking his dog. My deepest condolences to the family.

  2. I had the true privilege of knowing Tom for over 40 years. I was stunned to read of his passing. He was such a great person – kind, thoughtful, great sense of humor and irony, he had a truly encyclopedic mind on matters of history and arts. He was a proud old school Democrat but a true conservative in his assessment of the world. He was a very devout Roman Catholic and someone I shall miss so wish I’d seen him before this sad news. A proud USC Trojan, Loyola HS Cub and St. Brendan’s alumni. His quick Irish wit was something to experience – a near native of LA – his family moved here from Chicago when he was 2 in 1950 I believe. Raised in the house his parents owned and passed on from there as well. Goodbye old friend I am so grateful I knew you, say hello to Our Lady and Her son Our Lord Jesus Christ for me.
