Tom Bergin’s Tavern Announces Sudden Closure – Last Day This Sunday

2013-07-03

Neighborhood favorite Irish Restaurant/Bar Tom Bergin’s Tavern is announcing an abrupt end to their fresh new run under owners Warner Ebbink and Executive Chef Brendan Boudet. According to the LA Times, employees attribute the closing to poor sales.

The announcement was made on the Tavern’s Facebook page around 7:30p Wednesday evening.

It appears that Tom Bergin’s fans have through Sunday to soak in this amazing slice of LA History – normal business hours are 11:30am-2am, 7 days a week.

This is so hard to believe. Our experiences with the “new” Tom Bergin’s have all been positive – great food; great bar; familiar, friendly atmosphere. Perhaps the massive renovation just made profitability unachievable. The renovated Bergin’s opened in May 2012.

Any takers for an early Friday or Saturday visit?  Post your interest in the comments below or on our Facebook page.

  1. So sad! It seemed like it was thriving. I will definitely be going to pay my respects.
