Use Care Navigating Around Construction at Larchmont’s Former Lipson Building

The sidewalk in front of the former Lipson building (124 1/2 – 148 N. Larchmont Blv.) is closed to pedestrians for now.

Visitors to Larchmont today should exercise caution navigating around the extensive construction site at 124 1/2 -148 N. Larchmont, which has temporarily closed the sidewalk to pedestrian traffic while workers construct scaffolding across the entire front of the former Lipson Building.

Now that the removal of the building’s shops and businesses is complete (with the single exception of CH Boutique, which is moving today), workers are completing the pedestrian barricade they began in October. The sidewalk will be closed for the rest of the week until the barricade is completed, likely by Monday, according to one worker on the site. Pedestrians are being directed to cross the street and avoid the area.

Pedestrians are directed to cross the street and avoid the construction area while the sidewalk is closed and a pedestrian barricade is being constructed.

Further information is not yet available, as workers on the site were reluctant to speak with us and inquiries to Christina Development, which owns the building, have not been answered yet.
