This time, next week, it’s Valentine’s Day!
Personally, I love Valentine’s Day. My earliest memory of the day goes back to kindergarten. Our teacher made a giant red box where everyone deposited their Valentines. Then she passed out all the cards, and all of us went home with dozens of adorable notes from our fellow kindergarteners. It was simple, sweet and I’ve never forgotten it.
Every year, I try to take advantage of this annual opportunity to show a little friendly love to my family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc. Everyone enjoys getting a bit of special attention for being a good friend, child, co-worker, fellow volunteer, server, teacher, etc, You name it, there’s tons of people who go under-appreciated and would enjoy a little something on Valentine’s Day.
At the Larchmont Buzz, we have a special affection for our local business community so we’ve put together a shopping guide that we hope you will find useful if you are looking for something special for someone special on Valentine’s Day. Our local shops are stocked and ready to help you find just the right way to express yourself on Valentine’s Day.
The guide is our gift to our local small businesses and our readers. We especially love the animated bee our graphic designer Ann Zumwinkle made for us. The guide is a work in progress, and we’d eventually like to include all the shops on street and show some digital love for Larchmont.
