Walgreens opened their 8,000th store this past Saturday – and it’s unlike any Walgreens you’ve ever seen. Perfect for one of the most famous corners in the world…the northwest corner of Sunset and Vine.
It’s a big store! Formerly occupied by Border’s Bookstore, the space is more than 23,500 square feet – and they stocked it full of amenities you just don’t find in other drug stores. For starters, they have a pharmacist who sits out at a desk and is available to answer questions. And there’s lots of staff roaming the wide aisles, available to help find items. That’s enough of the serious things you look for in a drug store…now, on to the fun.
This drug store is all about the spectacle when it comes to providing interesting reasons to visit. There’s a sushi bar with freshly made, healthy items. Also, a juice/smoothie bar and a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine offering over 100 varieties of fountain drinks. And for those of us who are in that area to see movies at the Arclight Hollywood – there’s a set of frozen yogurt machines that will come in handy when looking for a quick pre-movie snack.
Additionally, the beauty offerings are extensive…the standard drug store brands and some fresh, upscale offerings that are sure to be popular. The store is one of the first to carry Boots No. 7 – an internationally acclaimed line of anti-aging serums. They have specially trained beauty advisors available to answer questions and expert shaping and grooming services are available at the Eyebrow Bar.
Plus, there’s a grocery section and a very upscale wine/beer section.
The store is open 24 Hours…with pharmacy hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a. m. until 6 p.m. Sundays.
Hint: Parking is easy…they’ve reconfigured the attached parking lot so that most of the ground level spaces are 1-hour spaces allowing for high turnover and free spaces. Be sure to get your validation though! Enter the parking lot on Morningside Court from Sunset…one block west of Vine.Walgreens 1501 Vine Street Hollywood, 90028
