Women’s History Happens Every Day at The Buzz

We’ve been meaning to write this all month, but we keep getting distracted by reporting the local news.  But since it’s now the last day of Women’s History Month, it’s now or never! As a women-founded, women-owned, and women-operated business, dare we admit that we are often so focused on our daily work that we don’t always make time to celebrate this important month? But this year, we decided to celebrate by making a donation to the stewardship fund at the Ebell of Los Angeles, where we are both members. Like the Buzz, The Ebell is a women-founded and women-operated organization based right here in our neighborhood, which aspires to educate and enlighten everyone.

The Larchmont Buzz was founded in 2011 by two other women, Mary Hawley and Julie Grist, who wanted to deliver timely neighborhood news online. The current publishers got involved shortly thereafter as contributors, and took over the Buzz in the summer of 2015. Since then, we have published more than 7,000 stories. So we are both part of our local history and often report about other women who make our local history every day. In other words, really, we celebrate women’s history month every month…and in many ways, almost every day of every month!
