Ruben Gonzales, Senior Lead Officer for the Wilshire Division, is a face you may see around a lot if you live in Basic Car area 7A47 – roughly from Wilshire south to Venice, and from Mansfield/Redondo east to Crenshaw. Neighborhoods include Brookside, Fremont Place, Windsor Village, and portions of Wilshire Vista and Sycamore Square. Gonzales says there are four separate patrols assigned to this area and he’s been Senior Lead there since 2008, “I know this area better than my own neighborhood – this is like a second home to me.”
With his pleasant personality and quick response time, Officer Gonzales may be one cop you DO want to see in your rear-view as you’re driving through the neighborhood.
