Shortly before 8:00 this morning, police and fire crews responded to a call of a home invasion and shooting at 1130 S. Citrus Ave. (south of Olympic, between Edgewood and 12th St.). According to NBC4 News, two men and a woman were being sought in the incident, and the shooting victim was in serious condition. No further information on the victim or suspects was reported.
Cortney Munna, who lives across the street from the site and had a birds-eye view of much of the police activity, provided the above photo and several others to the Buzz:
Munna also reported that a SWAT team arrived around 10:30 a.m., and that the police then called for the suspects to surrender or police dogs would begin searching for them. According to Munna, police activity seemed to center on a house a few doors down from the victim’s, where police were pointing guns and calling for someone to come out with their hands up. Although that activity lasted for about an hour, Munna said, it did not appear that any suspects were found at the residence.
At around 11:45 a.m., police appeared to still be searching the area, and Munna said she had not seen signs of any arrests.
[Update as of 8/24/17: Police have confirmed that the shooting victim does not live at 1130 S. Citrus, and the crime did not take place at that address. The victim was found at that address after fleeing the house where he was shot.]
Thank you! Saw the helicopter action from LA HIGH. This house is listed for rent in the MLS.
No updates at all? Massive LAPD response yet not a single one of the three suspects was caught or has been caught as of yet in this incredibly violent incident?
Hot prowl/home invasion where some old guy in his 60s gets shot in the face only a few blocks from the Wilshire division yet nothing to show for it other than dozens of cops standing around or with assault rifles pointed around the neighborhood…truly pathetic!
And whatever came of the shooting murder investigation of the person shot in or near his vehicle parked at the park across from LA High School, I believe it wasaround Christmas last year.
