Thanks to reader Keith Johnson, Larchmont Buzz learned that there is a three mile march and rally this morning that could potentially impact traffic in the north east corner of our neighborhood along Beverly Boulevard and Wilton Place.
The March is scheduled to start at Virgil Middle School on Vermont. Participants will leave the school at 9:30a and head north on Vermont to Beverly, where they will turn west and march towards Wilton Place. At Wilton, they will head north and walk towards Helen Bernstein High School – the final destination of the march. They are expected to arrive at the High School by 11:30a.
March as One – a group that is focused on gathering students, parents, families, educators, advocates and allies of our local schools to draw attention to the following agenda:
- To drive voter turn out for the March 5th, 2013 School Board and Mayoral Elections
- To raise awareness of unequal access to high quality education and the candidates platforms
- To ask our candidates to listen to our community an commit to strengthening our public education system
The rally is expected to include community speakers – giving candidates a chance to listen.
