Expect some rough rides and more cars detouring through the neighborhood as Sixth Street between Rimpau and Lucerne Blvd. is being repaved this week and next.
A Street Services crewman told the Buzz that the four block section will be closed this week as they scrape off the blacktop in preparation for putting down a new surface, which is expected not to happen until the week after Thanksgiving. Â Sixth St will be closed daily, but will reopen at night.
We may expect some trouble, though, as motorists, who often use the street as a high-speed thoroughfare, reach the unpaved section. Hopefully, the City will mark the transition areas so the narrow, and now extremely rugged street will not be the source of accidents for unsuspecting motorists.
