Victims of Knock-Knock Burglaries Can Claim Items Online

If you’ve been the victim of a Knock-Knock Burglary or had property stolen in the past year, the LAPD now has photos online of some of the 11,000 items they’ve recovered recently.  The LAPD began an investigation of “fenced” goods earlier in 2012, engaging in extensive surveillance of resale operations where police suspected stolen property was being sold to the public, sometimes in the legitimate market. The results are now online and the response to the photos, located in a dropbox account on the LAPD site, has drawn so much traffic that the site is often not available (but keep trying.)

If individuals believe their property is depicted in any of the photographs, they may send an e-mail to [email protected] or leave a message at 818-644-8091.  In your e-mail or message left, please include a brief description of the item, the item number written on the yellow tab in the photograph, the name listed as the victim on your burglary report, the report number, the address where the burglary occurred, the date of the crime and a callback number.
