The Good Goose Cafe, offering classic Thai food with fresh healthy ingredients, opened about two months ago at 5210 Beverly Blvd (formerly Alberto’s Mexican Grill, and before that, the Larchmont Deli for many years), just around the corner of Larchmont and Beverly Blvd.
Owners Jake Khajornsak and Neti Techa, who live near south Fairfax, had been looking for a neighborhood location and were thrilled to find this space in Larchmont. Both are veterans of the industry, according to manager Vilas Aroon, but this is their first restaurant. We were told the “Good Goose” name comes from a play on the Thai word for good — so it’s sort of like good-good.
The rearranged and remodeled space offers lots of nice spots to sit and street-watch, including a counter and small tables, as well as flexible tables for larger groups.

The format is fast casual dining. Orders are placed at the counter and delivered to your table with plates and silverware (nothing plastic).
We stopped by for lunch on Friday and sampled two classic dishes (Pad Thai and Yellow Chicken Curry), along with a spicy tuna rice bowl. Then we topped it off with a coconut sticky rice, served with mango and topped with sesame seeds. We will definitely go back.

We are addicted.
Order at least twice a week.
Soups are wonderful as are the Garden Rolls.
And the fried rice.
So Good!
That was one good lunch (I was there!). Thanks Larchmont Buzz and thanks Good Goose. I will be back.
