Local Restaurants Participate in DineL.A. — Today – September 18

DineL.A.’s Restaurant Week starts today, September 1, and runs through September 18, with more than 300 participating restaurants throughout Los Angeles, includng many very close by, such as Cafe Gratitude and Kali on Larchmont Blvd. Also, for the first time, a number of restaurants from the  Original Farmers Market will also be participating. In keeping with the pandemic times, this year’s DineL.A. Restaurant Week features al fresco dining (since all indoor dining is still prohibited), along with takeout and delivery options.

Organizers note that now more than ever, DineL.A. is dedicated to its support of L.A.’s vibrant food scene, offering value-driven menus for lunch, dinner and nearly every dining experience. With the restaurant community in constant flux due to the COVID-19 pandemic, DineL.A. has also expanded beyond restaurant walls this time around, to provide diners ‘A Menu For That’ moment – whether a special occasion, family picnic, day trip, or even dinner on the couch – understanding that food ties us together, both chef to diner and restaurant to city.

As restaurants pivot to address the changing times, this year’s options include family meal kits and more.  For example, Sushi|Bar, The Milky Way and Severance Wine Bar on Melrose will offer affordable menus ideal for groups, including picnic boxes, fondue kits and ‘at home’ omakase.

Broad Street Oyster Company, Tam O’Shanter and Mid-Wilshire’s Uovo will add to the roster of restaurants offering multi-course options designed for those outdoor social distancing dinners. And there are even some new restaurants offering delivery-focused concepts (Ggiata Delicatessen), pop-ups (Bar Restaurant’s ‘Valet Parking’), or fast-casual favorites (Pikunico Fried Chicken and Mid-City’s Sky’s Gourmet Tacos).

“We know that Los Angeles is dining out differently now and are deeply aware of the impact that COVID-19 has had on all of our favorite restaurants,” said Stacey Sun, Executive Director of dineL.A. “We felt it was critical to reimagine DineL.A. to complement that reality and encourage diners to keep enjoying meals together, even if it may not be within the structural walls of a restaurant. This DineL.A. Restaurant Week, we’re asking everyone to unite to support L.A.’s restaurant community.”

Lunch menus range $15-$35, with dinner menus priced $25-$65+. Untraditional DineL.A. pricing models will also be available, depending on the restaurant offer. Prices and meal periods also vary by restaurant, and exclude beverages, tax and gratuity. Menus may be subject to change due to seasonal availability of ingredients.
