Celebrating a Safer at Home New Year’s Eve with Local Restaurants

New Year’s Eve celebrations will be a lot more intimate this year, but good food and drink options still abound.

Obviously, this is going to be a very different New Year’s Eve than any of us have had in the past – no bars, no restaurants, no big parties or festivals.  But good food and drink are still available for safe, home-based celebrating, and many of our local eateries are still getting into the spirit and offering special takeout menus and deals for the holiday.  Here’s what we’ve found so far (in alphabetical order):





This Beverly Blvd. favorite is offering special Bone-in Ribeye and Standing Rib Roast Dinners by Chef Chad Colby, for takeout everyday from now through January 1.

Bone-in Ribeye Dinner Menu:

    • Bone-In Ribeye – Grilled Over Wood Fire
    • Smoky Mash Potatoes
    • Creamed Spinach
    • Crispy Steak Drippings Jus

Price: $80 per person for parties of 4,5, or 6.

Standing Prime Rib Roast Dinner Menu:

Price:  $100 per person for parties of 4,5, or 6.

And finally, if you’d like to join in a large virtual celebration on New Year’s Eve, Los Angeles’ biggest event, New Year’s Eve at Grand Park, will be available this year on FuseTV. The party starts at 11 p.m. on Thursday and this year features special guests Steve Aoki, Bia, Aquihayaquihay, Andrezka, and 2Deep of Gasolina Party…along with hosts DJ Eddie One and Jessica Flores.

And, as always, for those who don’t want to stay up (or don’t want their kids to stay up) until midnight, there’s also the live feed of the traditional New Year’s Eve ball drop from Times Square in New York City.  The event will not be open to the public in person this year, but it definitely will be available on TV and online (see the link above), including performances by Gloria Gaynor, Jennifer Lopez, Billy Porter, Cyndi Lauper, Jimmie Allen, Machine Gun Kelly, and more…along with other special activities and appearances.  And the best part is, it starts at 3 p.m. Pacific time and culminates at 9 p.m. –perfect for family viewing!
