Residents of North Irving Boulevard are holding their fourth annual “Irving Army” Charity Garage Sale today, Saturday, May 2nd from 8am – 1pm. The sale takes place on the block of North Irving Boulevard between Beverly Boulevard and 1st Streets and includes items from more than a dozen participating families.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to support the Child Life Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The donation will be used to purchase toys for children expected to be in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit for a long term stay.
Items for sale include high-end furniture, electronics, baby and kids items, designer clothing and jewelry, as well as other household and personal items. A number of residents will also be selling hot coffee and baked goods for shoppers in need of a pick-me-up.
The “Irving Army” Garage Sale initially began as a one-time event to raise funds for a neighborhood resident undergoing medical treatment. Due to the positive response from the local community and the city of Los Angeles at large, the Charity Sale has become an annual affair known for offering quality products and a friendly and festive atmosphere.
