Billed as the West Coast’s most comprehensive art show of Modern & Contemporary, Historic & Traditional artwork, the LA Art Show 2015 will hang in the Convention Center this weekend, January 15-18, 2015 in its 20th Anniversary Show.
Artwork from 120 galleries representing 22 countries will be exhibited, including sculpture, work on paper and installations. The LA Art Show began as a small exhibit with just 14 galleries represented, and now is seen by many as the stomping ground for established artists as well as emerging talent to showcase what’s next in art.
The weekend includes many art-related events, talks, performances and off-site museum shows in conjunction with the show, which can be explored online at the Art Weekend LA site. Tickets for the LA Art Show will also allow attendees admittance to the LA Jewelry, Antique & Design Show nearby and PhotoLA.
“The art and artists that have been featured at the LA Art Show have been exceptional over the years,” LA Art Show Producer Kim Martindale said. “I feel that the breadth and quality of the art has sometimes gone under the radar because of the grand scale of our event. We’ve had more than a dozen Venice Biennale artists exhibit their works at our show, as well as artists that have exhibited at major museums such as The Met and LACMA.”
The show runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 15-18, 2015. Tickets are $20/day at the show ( $15/day with online purchase) or $40/all-day pass.
