Local Music Buzz – British Invasion of Big Sounds

Great music is all around us…our beautiful Southern California weather appears to be a major attraction for British musicians in October! This past weekend Brit Peter Gabriel was at The Hollywood Bowl on Saturday night performing his classic hits, anchored by the 25th Anniversary of the album ‘So’; and indie rock/soul group Florence + Machine, one of the hottest British bands today, performed beneath the band shell on Sunday.

So before you miss any other rising British acts, we thought we should point out a few that are must sees…

Monday, October 8th – Florence + the Machine at The Hollywood Bowl

Sold out – but tickets available on Stubhub. I went to the Sunday show…this London band keeps getting better and better. Her voice is stronger than ever and her joy is infectious.  Do go!

Tuesday, October 9th – Michael Kiwanuka at The John Anson Ford Theater, Hollywood

Check out this soulful British singer in his first LA appearance. His voice is described as timeless and he has been compared to Bill Withers, Van Morrison and Otis Redding. Read more here – Ford Theater Michael Kiwanuka

Thursday, October 17th – Ellie Goulding Live Show and Album Signing at Amoeba Records, Hollywood

Amoeba Records plays host to London’s Ellie Goulding.  You can buy her new album at Amoeba anytime after it’s release on October 9th and bring it to this live show and album signing for an autograph.  Goulding has an infectious sound and this event will be a big opportunity to see her perform up close and personal.
