Stories From the Frontline Tomorrow at Noon

Stories from the Frontline debuted at the Ebell of Los Angeles in Los Angeles in 2018 , where First Lady of Los Angeles Amy Elaine Wakeland spoke. Tomorrow’s event is online at noon.

Stories From the Frontline will present stories focused on women experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles tomorrow, Wednesday, March 24, at noon.

“I am really excited about this particular program,” founder and local philanthropist Marylin Wells told the Buzz. “We have some incredible speakers who share their stories, including an amazing famous jazz musician who is also a landlord and provides affordable housing to women and their children, so he can speak to the benefits of helping house families. ”

Since Stories From the Frontline debuted in 2018, Wells and collaborator Allison Schallert have worked to change the narrative around homelessness. By introducing people with lived experience to our neighbors, so they better understand that people can be healed, get back to their lives, and be productive and successful members of our community, explained Wells,  people are more compassionate and willing to welcome affordable housing and supportive housing in their neighborhoods.

Through its collaboration with the Center for Supportive Housing and its Speak Up program, Stories from the Frontline has presented dozens of live events, attracting hundreds of viewers. Since the pandemic, it has turned to virtual events and has drawn even larger audiences, closer to 500 attendees. The next event, tomorrow at noon,  will feature speakers from Alexandria House, the Downtown Women’s Center, and A New Way of Life Advocates. Reservations can be made here.
