A 35mm print restored in 2010 of director John Ford’s ‘The Grapes of Wrath’ is showing at New Beverly Cinema on Beverly Boulevard, just west of La Brea. There are two opportunities to experience this classic – 4:30p and 8:00p Saturday only.
The 1940 film is based on John Steinbeck’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel about life during the Great Depression. It stars Henry Fonda, Jane Darwell, John Carradine, Shirley Mills, John Qualen and Eddie Quillan.
The New Beverly Cinema is owned by film maker Quentin Tarantino and is one of Los Angeles’ longest running revival theaters. According to theri website, the theater has screened the finest in classic, independent, cult and foreign films since 1978.
