As many (most? all?) parents of young children know, big trucks are very, very exciting.  And the chance to see big working trucks up close and personal can be one of the great joys of early childhood.  So both parents and kids will be thrilled to note that March is “Truck Month” at the John C. Fremont Library, 6121 Melrose Ave. The library will host visits from big trucks every Thursday this month.  The event began with a trash and recycling truck last week…and today’s (Thursday, March 16) visitor will be an LADWP “bucket truck” (a.k.a. “cherry picker”) at 4:00 p.m.
The LADWP crew will give a short presentation on electrical safety for the little ones and then show off their very cool truck. The event is free, and open to everyone.
Truck Month will continue on Thursday afternoons for the rest of the month, and will feature visits from an LAFD fire truck on March 23, and an LAPD police car (OK, not quite a truck…but still totally awesome) on March 30.
