Two local neighborhoods – Hancock Park and Brookside – will be holding crime, safety and security meetings this week, and residents of those neighborhoods are encouraged to attend.
First up is the Hancock Park Homeowners’ Association annual Security Town Hall meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 7:00 p.m. at the Third Street School auditorium. LAPD Senior Lead Officer Dave Cordova will discuss recent crime incidents in the neighborhood. The LAPD Wilshire Division Head Burglary Detective will also be there to discuss prevention measures and the ways in which reported crimes are investigated. In addition, management representatives from the SSA, ADT and Moore Protection security services will be there to discuss the services they provide, and to answer other security-related questions or concerns. All neighborhood residents are welcome to attend.
Second, the Brookside Homeowners’ Association will hold a similar community meeting on Thursday, February 8, at 6:30 p.m., at Memorial Branch Library, 4625 W. Olympic Blvd. The LAPD Senior Lead Officer for that area will also be there, and attendees will discuss the recent increase in burglaries and property crimes in the area, as well as what residents can do to safeguard their homes and families.
